By battling breast cancer, I learned...“After you’re diagnosed, there are stages you go
thru: shock, fear, then anger, but I wasn’t going to let it get me. And I was fortunate,
because mine was caught extremely early and I didn’t have to have chemo or
radiation. It was less than half a centimeter and had not
spread, but it’s still scary and is something that is always with you in the back of your
mind.  But, I knew I was in excellent hands. We have an amazing medical community
and they were diligent about treating my case, checking me time and time again.
When I was in the hospital at Norton Suburban, and having reconstructive surgery, I
didn’t run into one person that was mean or rude. They weren’t anything but
understanding and helpful and kind, and I came out of the experience with a whole
new respect for the people in that profession.”
