Styling Tips: For medium-course hair
like Courtney’s, Creech suggests that you
see a professional stylist every two weeks
and get a reconstructor (conditioner) with
each visit. You should also get your hair
relaxed every six to eight weeks. Wrap the
hair in a satin bonnet overnight or use satin
pillow cases. Use wire or Velcro rollers.

Courtney Morrow, 21 of Clarksville and
a culinary arts student at Jefferson
Community College, had been
accustomed to wearing her hair two
ways: with or without a ponytail. It was
time for a major beauty overhaul. Joy Creech, owner of Joy’s Hair Salon (225 N. Clifton
Avenue 502-897-7312), gave Courtney an upbeat hair style and updated makeup. The
Solution: She added a reconstructor conditioner to Courtney’s hair to lock-in moisture and
promote sheen. For added movement, she gave her a mid-length bob hair cut and
worked in layers. For the face: Joy brightened her eyes with a combination of plum rose,
golden bronze and smoky eyeshadows ($10-$20). She completed the look with pink
lipstick ($12-$15) and red lip toner gloss ($18-$25). All items are a part of Creech’s
private makeup line.
