Styling Tip: If you have curly hair, Shaughnessy
suggest working with your natural curls rather than
straightening. "I use lotion, instead of gel to give the
hair a lighter balance," she says.

The Solution: Gerry Swarts' light hair color wasn't
doing much for her, but Angela Shaughnessy and
Kelly Gedling, owners of Downtown Style in New
Albany, found a way to reinvent Gerry's look. Kelly
worked in highlights and added layers to give her a
fun style.
For the face: Mary Kay Cosmetics team leader Paula Pugh offset the redness of
Gerry's skin by using concealer, foundation and loose powder. On her eyes, Paula
used neutral shades accented with violet eyeliner and a generous sweep of mascara.
For her lips, she applied lipstick in magenta ($13) followed with high shine lip gloss in
pink diamonds ($13).
