More than 90 people joined Amy Ward last
month in staging a surprise party to
celebrate her sister’s victory over breast
cancer. Ward, who had already lost one
sister to the disease, says she wants other
women with breast cancer to feel hopeful
about their chances of survival.

Luncheon featuring Ronald Wright, M.D. as

Women’s Imaging and Breast Cancer Round Table

Race for a Cure
The Susan G. Komen Foundation, dedicated to eradicating breast cancer as a life-
threatening disease, will have their annual Race for a Cure which provides funding for
research grants, education, screening and treatment projects in communities around the

Pink Ball Tournament
The inaugural event — for women only — will be hosted by the Louisville Metro Dollars for
Scholars. The non-profit grassroots organization provides scholarships, academic
support, and educational access for youth and adults from low and medium income. Part
of the proceeds from the event will go toward setting up scholarships for children of breast
cancer victims.

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer
The Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk allows the American Cancer Society to
continue its mission to put an end to breast cancer and to diminish suffering for those
